Artist: Lynne Brouwer
No title, 2019 is part of a work in progress of collage imagery
that is available as C-print on German Etching, size 26x20cm, framed, in an edition of 10 (+ 1 AP).
Visual creative Lynne Brouwer (Ellecom, 1992) explores the fields of photography, design and psychology. By examining mostly man-made environments, objects and materials, Brouwer’s work is focused on researching design: as an expression of our psyche, and a physical manifestation of mankind’s motives, traces and actions. Her work shows her attempts to understand strange realities and the darker edges of human behaviour, often through finding – or creating – some form of pattern or similitude.
Her work ranges from documentary photo series to still lives and collages, depending on the story to tell. A strong sense of graphic design is always present within the aesthetics of her artwork.

In 2015, she graduated with honours from the Photography department of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague with her project ‘Designs for discomfort’. Her work has been awarded with, amongst others, the Silver Camera Award for best National Documentary Series and the Overduin Award.
Besides her artistic practice, Lynne has been working as a freelance photo editor for Dutch quality newspapers NRC Handelsblad and nrc.next for 3 years, and has recently joined the newsroom of Het Parool as well. She is regularly commissioned by, most notably, NRC, Het Parool and De Correspondent for her photographic designs. Now and then she also produces, designs and organizes exhibitions and other artistic interventions. She lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
