    Since Teun Voeten (1961) visited New York for the first time as an exchange-student in 1978, war photographer and cultural anthropologist, Dr. Teun Voeten has developed a deep passion for the city of New York. Beginning in 1990, between visiting war zones and working on his photo journalistic projects, Teun has been creating his extraordinary photographic series of New York architecture, shot in a consistent style, with a technical camera on medium format black and white film. This book presents 60 of Teun Voeten’s finest New York architectural photographs, as well as a selection of his images of the old meat packing district, Coney Island, the underground homeless, and illustrations of poverty and ethnic tensions in the city.
