Nanda Hagenaars (1988) bought her first professional camera in 2011. Just for the holidays. She quit her office job in 2016 and started taking pictures, all the time. She started as a streetphotographer. Always looking for the perfect combination of surroundings, light, and also style. Walking around with a camera was to experience and pay attention to whatever may occur. An autodidact pur sang. Since 2019 she is working in her own studio in the centre of Amsterdam, making portraits for ad agencies and non-profit clients like Aidsfonds, Plan Nederland, Just Diggit.
Her work can be described as romantic, poetic, but also with some rawness. It’s about translating that what is coming from the soul into images. She works with very delicate sensitivity.
